Katie Elder DPT (Licensed Physical Therapist, Doctorate in Physical Therapy), OCS (Orthopaedic Certified Specialist)
Katie attended the University of Louisville for her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine, worked as a Physical Therapist tech and completed 1 semester of massage school at Advanced Massage Therapeutics before returning to graduate school where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Bellarmine University. She has worked in a variety of settings since graduation including skilled nursing facility, home health, outpatient, and industrial occupational physical therapy. During this time she completed a two-day fellowship with Kutz and Kleinert for the wrist/hand and elbow therapy.
More recently, Katie has completed all 3 kinesio taping courses as well as completed an advanced taping certification Rock Taping course, 2 Maitland seminars for upper and lower extremity E1 and spinal stabilization courses, and is now board certified orthopedic certified specialist.
Katie has continued her education in upper extremity, scapular dysfunction, cervical spine and ribs. Katie enjoys working with people of all ages with a manual therapy emphasis and has a unique approach to exercise prescription. Katie was a collegiate gymnast and diver and has worked with local athletes to ensure their return to sports and to improve sports performance. In her free time she enjoys painting/drawing, learning piano and this year has completed level 2 kayaking certification (ACA, level II)
